UPDATE: The 49ers have listed Kittle as doubtful for Week 10.
Fantasy football leagues are hitting the home stretch of the regular season, and if you own San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, you might need to make some changes in the short term. Kittle is expected to be a game-time decision for Week 10 Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks, and odds seem decent he does not play in the game.
Kittle is missing his second straight day of practice, and his teammates seem to think he might not be able to play on Monday, per beat writer Nick Wagoner. Additionally, Wagoner reported that this injury could cost Kittle a second game.
Kittle injured his knee when he a took a helmet shot in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals. He returned to the game and had a solid performance, but he was not on the field for the game-clinching drive. As one of their best run blockers, it was notable he was absent in that situation.
Fantasy football analysis: 49ers TE George Kittle
The 49ers have one more practice session and we might hear good news at some point. In the meantime, it might be time to start assuming he does not play. You could add 49ers tight end Ross Dwelley to cover your bases, but he’s a low upside option.
