It’s been quite the rollercoaster season for Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon. He held out to open the season and made his season debut in Week 5. He didn’t get the money he wanted, but he returned in time to make sure he put together a decent year and got his service year towards free agency.
It has taken Gordon time to shake off the rust, but we are starting to see the Gordon of old. After four weeks where he rushed for no more than 32 yards and had three single digit receiving yardage totals, Gordon has started to turn it on. The team fired OC Ken Whisenhunt and we have started to see the team turn around their ground game. In Week 9, Gordon rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns, and hauled in 29 receiving yards. In Week 10, he rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown, and caught a 25-yard reception.
Austin Ekeler remains a threat to Gordon’s touches, but Gordon has firmly reclaimed his starting role. We’ll follow along throughout the season, breaking down his traditional and daily fantasy performances, prices, injury news, and more.
