The Oakland Raiders managed a huge win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10, edging them out 26-24 on a Josh Jacobs run to close it out. The Raiders defense put together an impressive effort, containing Philip Rivers and the LA passing attack just enough to secure the victory.

With the win, the Raiders improve to 5-4. They now sit one game back of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West and half a game back of the Indianapolis Colts for the second wild card berth. The playoff race is going to come down to the wire, and a home divisional win was key for the Raiders.

Following the victory, Oakland’s odds to win the AFC West got a slight bump. Prior to Week 10, the Raiders were listed at +750 at DraftKings Sportsbook to win the division. Following their win over the Chargers, they are listed at +650. It’s interesting to note the Chiefs odds have improved from -455 to -560. The Chargers loss coupled with Patrick Mahomes impending return has Chiefs backers feeling good about KC’s chances.

DraftKings’ odds to make the playoffs have not been updated yet for the Raiders, but they will improve as well. The Raiders entered the game at +240 to make the playoffs. They’ll likely drop down to or just under +200 with the win.

The Raiders have two must-win games the next two weeks as they host the Cincinnati Bengals and travel to face the New York Jets. If they want to be a legit, big-boy team, they have to handle their business in both games. If they can win both games, that sets up a huge road showdown with the Chiefs in Week 13. The Chiefs will be coming off a bye and head coach Andy Reid has a ton of success in that situation. Reid is 16-3 straight up and 13-6 against the spread coming out of the bye week. It’s worth noting he’s 3-3 ATS as Chiefs head coach.
