With six teams on bye we’re going to get creative with our lineups in Week 10. The Broncos, Patriots, Texans, Jaguars, Eagles and Washington are all on vacation. To help you sort through the week with the fewest options we’ve focused on several low cost players that may help you get that sweet cash in Week 10. All salaries via DraftKings.

Need for Speed

The NFL’s fastest receivers can also be the league’s most inconsistent. “Boom/Bust” players can deliver incredible ROI on one play or they may only get targeted 3 times and finish with 17 yards. One player that fits this profile is New Orleans Saint Ted Ginn Jr. ($3,700). Ginn started off strong in Week 1 but hasn’t gone over 50 yards or scored since. A healthy Drew Brees and a date with the Atlanta Falcons might just be what he needs to BOOM once more. John Brown ($6,000) is having himself a strong year and is considerably more expensive. Don’t let his speed fool you. Brown has rounded out to be much more than a field stretcher now that he is healthy and he could cause problems for the Cleveland Browns secondary.

Backup Bonanza

With Kenyan Drake in Arizona and Mark Walton suspended the Miami Dolphins backfield just got very lonely for Kalen Ballage ($3,800). The workload should be there, but we are still talking about a running back tied to the Miami Dolphins offense so expectations should be limited. Ballage saw some goal line work earlier this season and if he can add some yards to go with a touchdown you’ll be happy you saved the money at RB or FLEX. Looking for someone who might not be as highly owned but could still put up points – look at Gus Edwards ($4,800). This requires playing the “Guess the Game Flow” game as Edwards will likely only have value if the Ravens can build a decent lead against the Bengals. Given the Bengals are starting their rookie quarterback I like the odds of Edwards finding the end zone in back-to-back games.

Playing the Match-up

It hasn’t been all puppies and sunshine for Ryan Tannehill ($5,100) since he took over as the Titans starting quarterback. Tannehill had a rough game against the Panthers last week, but he wasn’t completely horrible in regards to stats. This week he gets the Kansas City Chiefs in Tennessee and Patrick Mahomes will likely make his return. That could mean a shootout on Sunday which would likely mean more attempts for Tannehill. Whether those attempts turn into points we’ll have to see, but at his price he is one of the more attractive low cost QBs available.
