The Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned to practice on Wednesday for Week 10, and they welcomed back tight end O.J. Howard after an injury absence. Howard is dealing with a hamstring injury that has cost him the team’s last two games. Howard was a DNP all last week, but was a full participant on Monday.
Cameron Brate started in his place and it was a quiet afternoon. He was not targeted a single time by Jameis Winston.
Fantasy football analysis: Bucs TEs O.J. Howard, Cameron Brate
For some reason, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians really does not like involving tight ends as pass catchers. He did not use them extensively in Arizona, and it has carried over in Tampa. Howard’s best performance is three receptions for 66 yards. Brate’s best performance is three receptions for 32 yards.
The Cardinals are the worst team in the league when it comes to defending tight ends. They give up the most fantasy points to the position, which is just ahead of the Bucs for worst in the league. It’s already been reasonable to release Howard, but if you’re holding on and he is quiet this week, there’s no reason to keep him on your roster moving forward this season.
