If you bet on every home team in Week 9 through Sunday Night Football, you would have won yourselves a whole lot of money. Whether you took them against the spread or money line, it was a profitable week of football for NFL home teams.
Dating back to Thursday, Week 9 featured 13 games. Of those 13, 12 featured a true home team. The Jacksonville Jaguars were technically the home team against the Houston Texans, but it was a neutral site game in London, so we won’t count it for these purposes.
All 12 of the true home teams through Sunday Night Football covered the spread. Of those teams, 11 won the game outright. The Arizona Cardinals failed to win their game, but came back from a 21-7 deficit to cover on a 10.5-point spread against the San Francisco 49ers.
We had a couple notable close calls. The Steelers won 26-24, but only because Adam Vinatieri missed a potential game-winning field goal. The Seahawks won 40-34 in overtime, but that came only after Jason Meyers missed a game-winning field goal attempt to close out regulation. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good!
The New York Giants host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football to close out Week 9. The Cowboys were as high as a touchdown favorite, but the line has settled at 6.5 points at DraftKings Sportsbook. Will the weekend trend carry into Monday?
