Kenyan Drake Week 1 fantasy football stats + performance

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Kenyan Drake 2019 fantasy football preview

The Miami Dolphins bring back many of their offensive weapons in 2019, but they’ve added a new quarterback in Ryan Fitzpatrick. If he can improve this offense better than Ryan Tannehill, Drake will be in a position to return to the running back top 20 even if Kalen Ballage eats into his workload.

Drake’s value is boosted in PPR formats. His 53 receptions last year were the 14th most among backs in 2018. He’s more than a passing down back as is evidenced by his 4.5 yards per carry and 4 rushing touchdowns.

He’s never been a “bell cow” back so we can expect Drake to be platooned with Ballage this season. That was the case last year and he still turned in a respectable fantasy season, though it didn’t feel that way for those who rostered him. The hope is that Fitzpatrick will conduct the Dolphins offense more effectively than his predecessors. If that is the case then a rising tide with lift all ships in Miami.

What is Kenyan Drake fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 1?

Drake enters Week 1 with a salary of $4,700. This puts him near backs like Dion Lewis, Tony Pollard and his teammate Kalen Ballage. Drake’s long term outlook is better than his week 1 projection when he faces a very tough Baltimore Ravens defense. The Ravens were the second best team against the run last season and while Drake can keep his floor high with action in the passing game this figures to be of his toughest matchups of the season.
