The Miami Dolphins will claim they’re trying to win every game, but sometimes you wonder just how true that is. They find themselves with a lead over the New York Jets, but they’re providing opportunities for the Jets to get back in this game.
The most obvious example is this disaster of a play near their own goal line. Attempting to run out the clock, Ryan Fitzpatrick had problems with the snap and had to dive on the ball in the end zone. It resulted in a safety.

The Jets added a field goal after the free kick and trail 21-12 at halftime. The Jets stink, so they may not come back, but the Dolphins are doing what they can to keep them in it!
The Dolphins entered the game winless while the Jets had one win. The battle for the top pick in the draft also includes the Cincinnati Bengals, and you have to wonder how badly these teams are pushing on it. The Jets hope they have their answer at quarterback in Sam Darnold, while Miami is likely to draft Tua Tagovailoa or another quarterback in the first round next April.
The Jets travel to face the Bengals in Week 13, while the Dolphins host the Bengals in Week 16. It’s a riveting close to the season!
