UPDATE: The Chiefs have ruled Damien Williams OUT for Week 13.

The Kansas City Chiefs backfield is officially a problem for fantasy football owners. Running back Damien Williams missed his second straight practice of Week 13 due to a rib injury and is looking like a significant question mark for Sunday vs. the Oakland Raiders. If he cannot go, LeSean McCoy would start in his place and Darrel Williams would serve as the backup.

Fantasy football implications: Chiefs running backs

If Damien is inactive, the decision is easy: McCoy is the starter and has the most fantasy value. The downside to that is his fumble issues. It would not surprise me at some point to see Darrel get a shot ahead of Shady if the fumbles are a concern.

If Damien is active, he would likely get the start, but it turns into more of a committee with Shady. And it’s clear Damien is not 100 percent with the rib injury. With a 4:25 p.m. ET start, fantasy owners could be stuck making a tough early decision. Hopefully Ian Rapoport or Adam Schefter can offer some clarity early Sunday morning.
