The Saints head to Atlanta needing a win to clinch the NFC South with four games remaining. They’ll also look to exact a little revenge after the Falcons went into New Orleans in Week 10, stomping them convincingly 26-9.
There isn’t much drama for the Saints in their division, but the NFC is tight with the 49ers at 10-1, Seahawks 9-2, Saints 9-2, Packers 8-3, and Vikings 8-3. The 49ers have the inside track on home-field advantage, but they also have a tough schedule. This race is up for grabs to a team that can go on a run to end the season.
After the Falcons, the Saints schedule isn’t a cakewalk — vs. 49ers, vs. Colts, @Titans, @Panthers. As long as they can handle their business against the Falcons, which isn’t a given, they then take on the NFC leaders at home. Drew Brees usually plays better in the home dome, so scheduling helped out there, but the Colts, Titans, and Panthers all have it in them to put up a fight. If the Saints come out of this stretch undefeated, they’re your No. 1 seed in the playoffs and favorites out of the NFC.
