What to do with Jared Cook in Week 13 fantasy football on Thanksgiving

Jared Cook has been on a roll of late. Will he keep it up against the Falcons Thanksgiving night?

Jared Cook is a Top-10 tight end in fantasy points per game with ten, and if you look at his past five games, he’s averaging 14.7 with four touchdown receptions. His target numbers aren’t where we’d like them to be in consistency, with 8, 2, 10 with Drew Brees back, but on average, they are good. And even in the game, Cook saw two targets, and he caught both for 33 yards and a touchdown. Cook has seen eight red-zone targets in his last five games and appears squarely in the must-start status for tight ends at this point.

Fantasy football analysis: New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook

This week Cook faces a Falcons team he took on in Week 10. In that game, he had ten targets and caught 6-for-74 yards. That game was one of the worst the Saints have played all season, so they will want to change things up this week, but there’s no reason Cook won’t still be a significant factor.

Atlanta ranks 19th against tight ends in DVOA and 14th in fantasy points allowed to the position. They are pretty much a neutral matchup for Cook, and with Michael Thomas getting the most attention, the Falcons won’t look to shut Cook down. We do have a much deeper tight end pool this week without byes, but Cook has proven himself reliable of late.
