What to do with Bo Scarbrough in Week 13 fantasy football on Thanksgiving

Bo Scarbrough is the Lions new starting running back. Will he give you fantasy value against the Bears on Thanksgiving day?

UPDATE: Jeff Driskel’s hamstring injury is expected to prevent him from playing. David Blough will start in his place. Scarbrough will likely face more eight-man boxes, but he’s still worth starting as a volume play.

Bo Scarbrough showed up on the scene two games ago as a surprise start against the Cowboys. He’s a bruiser who doesn’t work in the receiving game, but did have 14 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown against Dallas and then 18 carries for 98 yards against Washington. Coach Matt Patricia likes to have a ground and pound back, and Scarbrough has been that so far.

Fantasy football analysis: Detroit Lions RB Bo Scarbrough

Before Scarbrough arrived, the Lions ran the ball 22 times for 62 yards with J.D. McKissic, Ty Johnson, and Paul Perkins while Jeff Driskel threw it 46 times in a 20-13 loss. I expect the team will give Scarbrough the bulk of rushing attempts while Johnson and McKissic fight for receiving work.

The Bears rank 18th in fantasy points allowed to running backs but do allow just 3.6 yards per carry to the position. The Bears allow the eleventh-most rushing attempts and third-most rushing touchdowns to running backs, which boosts opposing backs despite the low yards per carry. With Scarbrough getting the bulk of the rushing attempts, he’s set up for an excellent workload in a close game but will likely need a touchdown to have good value.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Scarbrough.
