A.J. Green still not practicing in Week 13

Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green remains sidelined rehabbing his ankle injury. We break down the fantasy football implications for Auden Tate, Alex Erickson in Week 13.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green did not practice on Wednesday, per beat writer Geoff Hobson. The Bengals host the New York Jets in Week 13, and it seems highly unlikely we see Green playing this week.

If Green does not play this weekend, it will be 13 weeks of regular season action and four full months since he was last healthy. He got in limited practice sessions earlier this season, but had to shut it down due to swelling in his surgically repaired ankle.

It would be a sizable upset if Green played again this season. The Bengals have nothing to play for, and Green has free agency arriving in March. He’ll want to be 100 percent for that since it seems unlikely we see him re-sign in Cincinnati.

Fantasy football analysis: Bengals WRs Auden Tate, Alex Erickson

The only “upside” to Green’s absence has been the chance for Tate and Erickson to get more playing time opposite Tyler Boyd. They’ve been hit or miss, but there’s fantasy value in deeper leagues. This week they face a Jets defense that is giving up the seventh most fantasy points to wide receivers. In 14+ team leagues and larger roster leagues, they’ve got some decent flex value.
