Adam Thielen had missed four games with a hamstring injury that he aggravated when he tried to play two weeks after he suffered the injury. He’s now had two games and a bye week to heal.
Since the Vikings play on Monday night, Tuesday’s practice was informal, but Thielen did participate. The Vikings also let Josh Doctson go, for what appears to be Thielen’s return. His participation and Doctson’s release are good signs, and with an extra day before their matchup with the Seahawks, the odds appear on his side to return.
If Thielen can make it back, Stefon Diggs and Dalvin Cook take a hit in targets. Cook has seen a nice bump in receiving work with Thielen out, with 5, 4, 7, and 5 receptions over his last four games. Before Thielen’s injury, Cook averaged 3.4 receptions in seven games compared to a 5.25 average in the previous four.
