The Pittsburgh Steelers return to practice on Wednesday, and the status of wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back James Conner is going to be uncertain. Head coach Mike Tomlin met with the media on Tuesday and could offer no clarity on the status of either, according to beat writer Brooke Pryor.
Smith-Schuster sat out last week with a knee injury and a concussion suffered in Week 11. Diontae Johnson and James Washington have started at wide receiver. Conner aggravated a separated shoulder injury in Week 11 as well. Jaylen Samuels originally replaced him in the starting lineup, but Benny Snell emerged last week with a solid performance to likely capture the early down role.
Fantasy football analysis: Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, RB James Conner
The safe bet is to assume neither plays. I could see both back in Week 14, but it will depend on how this week’s injury report looks. Last week, both were DNPs all week long, so we’ll need to see them get back into at least a limited session this week before getting too optimistic about Week 14.
