So we’ve only got two games for tonight in the NBA, but boy are they good ones. Let’s start with Mavericks-Clippers, which — and I can’t believe I’m saying this but — could be a preview of the Western Conference Finals??? No way, right? Well maybe a very, very exciting second-round matchup. But it’s possible Luka Doncic meets Kawhi Leonard and Paul George late in the postseason.
Doncic will look to reach the 30-10-10 averages on the season while the Clippers are coming off a stomping of the New Orleans Pelicans the other night. It’s worth noting that the Clips are playing the first of a back-to-back set, so Kawhi Leonard and/or Paul George may be ruled out for load management purposes. Keep an eye on the news for this one.
The other matchup is only intriguing because it pits one of the top offenses and highest paced teams in the NBA against one of the slowest. The Wizards are playing a reckless brand of basketball that I’ve fallen in love with. They don’t care about defense and they’re all offense. The Denver Nuggets are the opposite of that. Zero excitement, all business. Denver’s formula has worked better in terms of the standings as the Nuggets (12-3) are on a five-game winning streak and are currently second in the Western Conference behind the Los Angeles Lakers.
Below are point spreads and the over/under for each of the ten games on schedule for tonight:
Mavericks @ Clippers (+2, 227.5) 8:30 p.m. ET
Wizards @ Nuggets (-9.5, 227.5) 9:00 p.m. ET
