UPDATE: Lamar added ANOTHER touchdown in the first half. He will head into halftime having completed all nine of his passes for 87 yards and three touchdowns, with 80 yards rushing. Absolutely filthy.
Lamar Jackson is kinda good at this football thing, right?
The Baltimore Ravens are thumping the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football and Jackson is bolstering his MVP case in a big way. With halftime approaching, Jackson is 6/6 for 57 yards and two touchdowns, and has rushed for 68 yards. The Ravens defense has given the Rams offense plenty of problems, but Jackson has been a wizard in leading this early route.
Jackson just missed out adding a rushing touchdown to his total. He scrambled from the 30 and stumbled inside the five yard line. He rolled, got up and tried to get into the end zone, but came up a yard short. Mark Ingram punched it in on the next play.
Jackson entered the night as the favorite to win the 2019 NFL MVP award. Russell Wilson has been a close second, but this game should widen the odds between them. This marks Jackson’s first appearance on Monday Night Football and he is taking advantage of it. Frankly, Jackson could lock up the MVP award if he finishes this game strong and then puts on a big performance against the impressive San Francisco 49ers defense next weekend. He’s awfully impressive!
