The New York Giants struggled yet again en route to a 19-14 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 12. The offense was necessarily atrocious, but inconsistent might be the best word. Daniel Jones threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns, and Saquon Barkley rushed 17 times for 59 yards. Barkley added two receptions for one yard and finished with 8.0 DKFP on the day.
It’s been rough sledding for Barkley this season, and this was a low point while healthy. His lowest DKFP total this season was 7.7 in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he left with an injury. He’s in a two-game swing in which he scored 8.1 DKFP last week and eight this week. It’s hard to get going when opposing defenses have little reason to heavily engage in pass defense.
Things might get a little easier in Week 13 with the Giants hosting the Green Bay Packers. The Packers run defense has struggled this season, and could open the door for a bounce-back performance for Barkley.
