Mason Rudolph continued his awful play into the second half of the Steelers/Bengals matchup and after taking a ten-yard sack and throwing yet another incompletion, head coach Mike Tomlin called for Devlin (Duck) Hodges from the bullpen.

Hodges quickly proves to the coaching staff and his teammates that the change was a worthwhile one, as he throws a 79-yard touchdown to James Washington on his fourth play after taking over at quarterback.

Before getting benched, Rudolph had completed 8-of-16 passes for 85 yards and an interception and played just as poorly as those stats look. On just two pass attempts, Hodges topped Rudolph’s half of work, as he completed both passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. Hodges isn’t going to take over the NFL but he is a breath of fresh air after Rudolph’s awful run.
