Adrian Peterson ACTIVE for Week 12

Washington RB was questionable due to toe injury but will suit up vs. the Lions.

After entering Week 12 vs. the Detroit Lions as questionable, RB Adrian Peterson (toe) is active for today’s game. ESPN’s Adam Schefter had reported previously that Peterson was expected to play, so this news is just confirmation. Prior to last week, Peterson had managed at least 14 carries in each of the past four games. Let’s take a look at his outlook for Sunday’s matchup.

Fantasy Football Analysis: Washington running backs

With Peterson active, this bumps down the value of RB Derrius Guice, who flashed some of that talent we all expected from him in Week 11 vs. the New York Jets. He was quiet on the ground, but took a pass 45 yards for a TD. We could start to see Washington opt to split carries between Peterson and Guice, but the matchup vs. Detroit’s defensive line isn’t ideal. I wouldn’t consider Peterson or Guice much more than a FLEX play in deeper leagues, with Guice being a more attractive option if he’s used more in the passing game.
