How to handle Robert Woods in Week 12 fantasy football

The Rams receiver is expected to be back on the field on Monday night.

The Los Angeles Rams welcomed a familiar face back to the practice field this week. Wide receiver Robert Woods rejoined his team on Thursday and practiced for the first time since a surprising absence last week.

The Rams announced that Woods would take a leave of absence to deal with a personal situation just hours before their Week 11 kickoff against the Bears. His status going forward was up in the air as he worked through his situation, with his team’s blessing. But he’s back now, and according to the Associated Press, he intends to play for the Rams’ Monday night game against the Ravens.

Woods’ return also happens to coincide with the return of Brandin Cooks, who was just cleared to play after suffering another concussion. Now, the team will have it’s full receiving corps in uniform for a tough game against Baltimore.

Woods is the team’s No. 2 receiver, second on the roster with 566 receiving yards, behind Cooper Kupp’s 845 yards. However, he has not found the end zone this season. In Week 10, Woods was targeted 11 times, catching seven passes for 95 yards against the Steelers.

Room to work is going to be hard to find against the Ravens secondary, with former Rams cornerback Marcus Peters and the shutdown Jimmy Smith. The Rams offense has struggled to score points in its last two games, but with both Woods and Cooks back on the field, they will at least have all the help they need in a tough matchup.

Woods is worth a flyer as a second or third receiver.
