If Jimmy Garoppolo played the Arizona Cardinals every week, he’d break every fantasy football and actual record for a QB ever. Unfortunately that’s not how the NFL schedule works, so the San Francisco 49ers will take on the Green Bay Packers in Primetime on Sunday Night Football. Garoppolo and the Niners bounced back from their first loss of the season to the Seattle Seahawks by dispatching the Cardinals in Week 11, with Jimmy G throwing for over 400 yards and four TDs, finishing with 34.66 fantasy points.
Fantasy Football Analysis, San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo
It’s important to first note the Packers are coming off their bye week, so Aaron Rodgers and Co. are well-rest for this huge NFC matchup. Green Bay has given up a lot of yards per game (384.7), but are only allowing just over 20 points per game, the bend but don’t break approach. They’ve been susceptible through the air and on the ground, so Jimmy G is in a decent spot, though Kyle Shanahan would be wise to establish the run.
The Packers coming off a bye should put up points, so this could be a back and forth type of game. Two top 10 offenses in terms of scoring going at it usually equates to decent production for the QB, but Garoppolo has only eclipsed 20 fantasy points in three of 10 games this season, not a great ratio. Still, I think in deeper leagues Garoppolo is a solid play.
