The San Francisco 49ers have a mix of good and bad news in their pass catching corps. Tight end George Kittle and wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Deebo Samuel are all listed as questionable for Week 12 Sunday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers.
The bad news is that none is a clear sure thing to play. We likely will not get final word on them until Sunday. The good news is local media are feeling optimistic about all three. There is a little more optimism about Sanders and Samuel, but Kittle is at least making progress from his knee injury.
Fantasy football analysis: 49ers offense
If Kittle plays, he’s a must start in fantasy football. If Sanders plays, he’s a strong start for fantasy football players. If Samuel plays, he’s an intriguing start in deeper leagues, but there are some questions about usage if Kittle and Sanders are playing.
The bigger impact could be on Jimmy Garoppolo’s fantasy value. He’s coming off a career high performance against Arizona, and having Kittle back alongside Sanders and an emerging Samuel offers him that much more upside.
It’s also worth noting what Kittle means to the 49ers ground game. He’s one of the best run-blocking tight ends in the NFL. Getting him back alongside Kyle Juszczyk would be big for Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert (Matt Breida is doubtful for Sunday).
