After taking Thursday night off since there were only two games, we’re back at it tonight for the 10-game NBA slate. recapping Wednesday though, we stayed somewhat hot, going 6-4 minus the Mavericks-Warriors game, which I got off of after Draymond Green was ruled out because I’m dumb. The Mavericks went on to smash the Warriors, which was a gift from God. But 6-4 is still respectable, so we’re at 17-6 over the past slates not counting yesterday.
We’ve got another scenario tonight in which the Warriors should get their teeth kicked in, against the Utah Jazz on the road with Draymond out again. Other than that game and Mavericks vs. Cavaliers, we don’t have any other double-digit spreads at the moment, so things will be a bit tough in terms of value. I still think there are a few spots we can cash in on, but let’s go over the picks.
Note: These picks were made reflective of the lines at 2:08 p.m. ET. I’ll update accordingly if things change.
Hawks (+6.5) @ Pistons
Hornets (+6) @ Wizards
Nets (-1.5) vs. Kings
Lakers (-4) @ Thunder
76ers (-7.5) vs. Spurs
Heat (-4.5) @ Bulls
Mavericks (-10) vs. Cavaliers
Jazz (-16) vs. Warriors
Celtics (+5) @ Nuggets
Rockets (+5) @ Clippers
For some context, I really like the Hawks getting points vs. Detroit. The Pistons have lost five in a row and I question if their offense can keep up with Trae Young. This is basically me betting on Young alone to beat Detroit. I think this is the night the 76ers finally beat up on a team, at home, against the Spurs, who are on a seven-game losing streak. ... The way Luka Doncic is playing I can’t see the Mavs not covering -10 at home vs. the Cavs. ... I still don’t know why Boston keeps getting points in these spots. It’s like free money. The Celtics are too good to get beat by a lot and the Nuggets could win, sure, but it’d be a slogfest. Low scoring favors the dog. ... The Jazz aren’t Luka Doncic, but I still think it’d be surprising if they don’t win by 20+ against the Dubs. I’m giving James Harden some confidence here to either get the win or keep it to a possession or two vs. Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and the Clippers.
