What to do with Texans D/ST in Week 12 fantasy football

Houston will need to get after QB Jacoby Brissett in order to be successful. We break down whether you should start or sit the Texans D/ST this week.

You can’t really put last week’s performance all on the Houston Texans’ defense. Few teams have had an answer for Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and that theme continued with the Texans on the road in a 41-7 thrashing. So for Houston, it doesn’t have much time to forget the tough loss, but will have to with a short week heading home to face the rival Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Football Analysis, Houston Texans D/ST

As always I’ll begin this section with the usual “home teams are in good spots on short weeks on Thursday Night Football.” This mantra will always hold true in my mind and the Texans are lucky they aren’t going to Indy this week. It also helps the Colts are without RB Marlon Mack (hand) and T.Y. Hilton’s (calf) status is up in the air. This should make the Texans D/ST task a bit easier, but they need to figure out the pass rush. If they can’t get pressure, Jacoby Brissett will be able to pick apart their defense like he did earlier in the season. Brissett hasn’t looked good since that game though and this is a big spot for Houston. As a home favorite on a short week vs. an opponent dealing with injuries, I don’t mind the Texans D/ST, but there’s some risk. They are an OK streaming option in deep leagues, but shallow leagues you can probably find a better option on the wire.

Start/Sit Recommendation

Start in deeper leagues.
Sit in 8-10 team leagues.
