This is the biggest game of the season for Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans. The Texans are tied with the Indianapolis Colts heading into Thursday Night Football in Houston. Watson is coming off his worst NFL game of his career, completing 18-of-29 passes for 169 yards and one INT, a 63.7 passer rating. But to be fair, Watson has been very boom-or-bust this season. He’s thrown for under 200 yards in three games and has had three games without a TD pass. On the flip side, he’s had three games over 300 yards passing and four with at least three TD passes.
Fantasy Football Analysis, Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson
If you own Watson, you’re playing Watson. I have the same sentiment for a handful of the top QBs in the NFL and he’s one of them. You don’t spend a high draft pick in a 12-team league on Watson just to bench him on Thursday night at home vs. the Colts.
Now, if you’re in a shallow league or a Super FLEX league, maybe you’ve got a tougher decision. If that’s the case, I still think you have to play Watson. His ceiling is high despite the Colts’ defense playing well and it’s a must-win game. Watson’s floor also is decent; he threw for over 300 yards earlier in the season vs. Indy and finished with 20.52 FPTS.
