The Falcons starting running back continues to trend toward not playing this week against Tampa Bay. Earlier, coach Dan Quinn said that Devonta Freeman was “trending in the right way,” so there is hope for his status if he can get back on the practice field sooner than later.
Freeman last played in Week 10 against the Saints when he injured his foot in what appears to be a foot-sprain. The reported time table from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was “about” two weeks, which would be this week against the Buccaneers.
If Freeman can’t go, we’ll see Brian Hill again as the starter. Hill disappointed in a big way against the Panthers in Week 11 with 30 yards on 15 touches. Even with that performance, as the starter in a game, the Falcons are favored at home, Hill should have some fantasy value.
