Jordan Howard has still not been cleared for contact due to his shoulder injury, according to head coach Frank Reich. Beat writer Jeff McLane reports that Howard will see work in individual drills on Wednesday.
There isn’t a timetable for Howard’s return. They will wait with the rest of us for Howard to be cleared by the doctors. If Howard can’t go, we will see Jay Ajayi this week, according to Reich. Reich also mentioned that Ajayi was signed due to Darren Sproles heading to I.R. and not because of Howard’s injury.
Miles Sanders lead the way with Howard out last week, but couldn’t amass many stats against the stout Patriots defense. He will again get the lead against Seattle this week if Howard is out and in a better matchup. Ajayi would cut into Sanders’ work, but he likely would still be an ancillary piece at this point in the offense.
