Best fantasy football quarterback plays under $6000 in Week 9

Younger quarterbacks typically seem to provide some of the best bang for your buck. We break down your best low-cost WR options in Week 9 DFS.

The Sunday kickoffs for Week 9 are almost here, and it’s time to start plotting out your Week 9 DFS lineups. In Week 8, a lot of the usual suspects dominated, but we had some under-the-radar names step up in a big way to key folks to victory.

If you splurge elsewhere in your DFS lineup, you might need to scrap the bottom of the barrel to fill out the rest of your lineup. If you’re able to save a little more money on a player, who not make it the quarterback position?

So here are three best quarterback plays under $6,000 that could provide the best value for Week 8. Values from DraftKings.

Sam Darnold (NYJ) - $5,900

The Miami Dolphins are just the cure for any ghosts that might be lingering in Sam Darnold’s periphery. Darnold is a much better quarterback than he appeared against the New England Patriots defense, and the Miami Dolphins front seven should provide Darnold plenty of time to drop back in pass. With a talented group of pass-catchers in Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder, Chris Herndon, and LeVeon Bell, Darnold is setting up for a big bounce back performance this week.

Kyle Allen (CAR) - $5,200

Another young quarterback looking to bounce back after a disappointing Week 8 would be Kyle Allen of the Carolina Panthers. After not allowing an interception through the first four games of his career, he threw three picks (and no touchdowns) last week against the San Francisco 49ers. Like Darnold, Allen should see a little more time in the pocket this week as the Tennessee Titans don’t quite possess the defensive front boasting the likes of Joey Bosa, so take advantage of Allen’s price tag this week while you can.

Derek Carr (OAK) - $5,500

Speaking of quality matchups, Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders are set to square off against the Detroit Lions and the NFL’s third-worst defense against opposing quarterbacks this week. Carr hasn’t done much in 2019 (throwing for only eleven touchdowns all season), but he’s seen his quarterback rating increase each of the last three weeks and could see it climb for the fourth week if he could combine the highlights of his last two games. Last week, Carr finished with a season-high three scores, but completed a season-worst 60% of his passes. If Carr could go back to his 70%+ completion percentage while still logging the touchdowns, he could have a monster week.
