It was hard to miss at the quarterback position in Week 11 with so many names putting up some big-time fantasy performances. Four quarterbacks, Jimmy Garoppolo, Dak Prescott, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson all had at least 30 DKFP while eight others scored over 20. In my mind, a couple of performance stuck out and we’re going to dive into those plays and their outlook for Week 12.

Jeff Driskel ($5,500) vs. Washington

Give the man credit, in two starts in place of the injury Matt Stafford, who we found out could be sidelined for weeks, has averaged 23.3 DKFP thus far. In a perceived tough matchup against a Cowboys’ secondary that’s been amongst the best in the league, Driskel dropped 27.4 DKFP by completing 15-of-26 pass attempts for 208 yards and two touchdowns. He’d also show off his legs a bit by rushing the ball eight times for another 51 yards and a TD. If you took a shot with him at a price tag of $4,600, you were very pleased with the output you got back to him. Now, as we head into Week 12, Driskel has seen a massive $900 increase in his salary ahead of his matchup against Washington? Is he still worth it?

For me, Driskel is a steal against a defense that has allowed opposing quarterbacks to average 19.3 DKFP, 249 passing and 14.5 rushing yards. Again, let’s not discount how tough the Cowboys defense was compared to what stands in front of him in Week 12. We’ve seen mobile quarterbacks rack up some yardage against this team as well, as Dak Prescott ($6,000) ran for 69 yards while Daniel Jones ($5,700) did so for 33. So while Driskel did receive a huge bump in salary, it hardly feels like much when you consider the matchup and how cheap he still is overall, as he’s tied for the 13th most expensive salary on the slate. Embrace the discount and don’t fear rolling with Driskel in this game.

Tom Brady ($6,000) vs. Cowboys

Against the same team Driskel scored his 27.4 DKFP, Brady now has the same task. Coming off their bye week, Brady did not look in sync with his receiver and produced his second-lowest fantasy performance of the season with just 8.54 DKFP. He completed only 26-of-47 pass attempts for 216 yards while not throwing for a touchdown for the third time this season. It was a pretty shocking performance against an Eagles’ secondary that has been one of the worst in the league and even after keeping the Patriots receivers quiet, has still allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing receivers.

After what can honestly be summed up as a disaster of a game for Brady, he goes down $400 in salary ahead of Week 12. Even after a good game from Driskel, I’m not convinced the Cowboys are a team we want to actively target against. They still are allowing only an average of 16 DKFP to opposing quarterbacks, which is amongst the lowest in the league. When Brady isn’t finding the end zone, as you can imagine, he’s not exactly producing fantasy results, averaging 13.4 DKFP. I’d consider him a bit too expensive for this matchup and would keep him on the board and would instead play a couple of his receivers alone like Julian Edelman ($6,900) or Mohamed Sanu ($5,500). Playing the immobile Brady in this game carries too much risk for me.
