UPDATE: Cooper Kupp is still a football player! Late in the second quarter, Kupp appeared to score a touchdown on a deep pass from Jared Goff. On review, Goff was ruled to have fumbled the ball out of bounds at the 1-yard line, and it is officially a 50-yard reception for Kupp.
The Los Angeles Rams are playing in Week 11 without wide receivers Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks, with the former dealing with a personal issue and the latter recovering from a concussion. One would think that would result in leading receiver Cooper Kupp getting that many more looks. One would be wrong.
Cooper Kupp was held without a reception on four targets in Week 10, marking the first time in his NFL career that has happened. Now, midway through the second quarter of Week 11 vs. the Chicago Bears, he has not even been targeted for a pass. He did actually appear on the field, going in motion as part of a fake, but as of a Rams punt at 7:47, he has not yet been targeted in the passing game.
I can’t even begin to explain why the Rams are not targeting their best receiver. I won’t pretend to be smarter than Sean McVay, but I have no idea what his plan is.
Cooper Kupp has played 103 minutes of football since his last reception
