Falcons pound Panthers 29-3 in upset win

Week 11’s top fantasy football waiver wire add Brian Hill goes nowhere in Falcons blowout win.

The 5-4 Carolina Panthers hosted the 3-6 Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and took it on the chin, as Atlanta dominated from start to finish, 29-3.

Kyle Allen was awful, as he threw four interceptions, giving his team no chance to compete. His turnovers set Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense well, but it was the defense and special teams that did the scoring in Week 11.

Kicker Younghoe Koo kicked three field goals while Kenjon Barner returned a punt for a touchdown. The only offensive touchdown for Atlanta went to Calvin Ridley, who ended up the offensive star, catching eight passes for 143 yards and a touchdown.

The Carolina Panthers came into this game, scuffling hard against opposing running backs. No other team has given up as many touchdowns to the position, but fantasy football’s No. 1 waiver wire add, Brian Hill, couldn’t get anything going against them. With a big lead, it seemed inevitable that Hill would put up some late yards and possibly a score, but instead, he ended up with 38 yards on 16 touches.

Hill did finally get over the line for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but much to the chagrin of those who started him, the Falcons were called for holding, and the score was negated.

Devonta Freeman didn’t practice once before this weekend, so there’s a decent chance he misses again next week with his foot injury. Next week they face a tough Tampa Bay run defense, which will scare away many Hill backers.
