UPDATE: Ian Rapoport tweeted that Damien Williams was dealing with a family matter, but traveled with the team to Mexico City. It would appear he is good to go and will start on Monday Night Football. There is no word on if LeSean McCoy will be inactive a second straight week.
UPDATE: Chiefs beat writer Adam Teicher tweeted that Williams “will play” on Monday.
The Kansas City Chiefs are traveling to Mexico City for their Week 11 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, and running back Damien Williams is questionable due to personal reasons. He is not injured, but he showed up on the Friday injury report as a DNP because of non-injury reasons.
Head coach Andy Reid said Williams “should travel with the team to Mexico City” on Sunday, according to beat writer Nate Taylor. We’ll find out later today if that did indeed happen, but barring any last minute changes, it sounds like Williams should be there and playing on Monday Night Football. If he did not travel, LeSean McCoy would likely get the start with Darrel Williams serving as his backup.
Fantasy football analysis: Chiefs RB Damien Williams
This will be something to monitor. If he travels he plays, if he doesn’t travel he doesn’t play. This is not a game-time decision, but we have to wait and see if he actually travels. We might not get this information until after 1:00 p.m. kickoffs. If you are waiting for that information to make a start/sit decision, Reid’s comments offer at least a modicum of confidence.
