Emmanuel Sanders ACTIVE for Week 11

The 49ers will have their slot receiver Sunday afternoon vs. the Cardinals, but how much will the injury affect him? We break down the fantasy football implications.

The San Francisco 49ers will have a key piece of their passing game ACTIVE for Sunday’s game vs. the Arizona Cardinals with Emmanuel Sanders suiting up. Though Sanders is considered ACTIVE, it’s unclear how much he’ll play today. Sanders didn’t practice all week due to rib injuries and Mark Barrows of The Athletic reported Friday that Sanders would “try to play” vs. Arizona.

Fantasy Football Analysis: 49ers wide receivers

Right now the 49ers spread the ball around so much it’s hard to figure out who will be the most valuable play in the passing game. QB Jimmy Garoppolo ($6,700) targeted 10 different players last week vs. the Seahawks, with four coming from the backfield and five receivers, plus backup TE Ross Dwelley ($3,400) filling in for George Kittle (knee/ankle), who is doubtful. With RB Matt Breida also doubtful, there should be more targets to go around.

The issue I have with Sanders ($7,200) is football is a physical sport and one shot to the ribs is all it will take to force him out of the game again. He’s a risky play in non-PPR leagues and I’d say to fade him in those formats, but PPR he’s in a great matchup against the Cardinals, so it’s tough to leave him on the bench. Sanders torched the Cardinals a few weeks ago for seven receptions on nine targets for 112 yards and a TD, so that’s the type of ceiling we’re working with. Considering Sanders’ price on DraftKings, I’d much prefer Deebo Samuel ($4,000) or Kendrick Bourne ($3,000) given the spot and savings you’ll get for both receivers.
