For awhile this week, it looked like the Detroit Lions might not have running back Ty Johnson for their Week 11 game against the Dallas Cowboys. However, his name was not on the final injury report, clearing the way for him to play on Sunday afternoon.
Johnson was dealing with a concussion that he suffered in last week’s game against the Bears. He left the game in the first quarter, after just five carries. He still had not cleared the league’s concussion protocol earlier this week, but resumed practicing on Thursday.
Fantasy football analysis, Detroit Lions RB Ty Johnson
Ty Johnson got his break when the Lions were forced to send running back Kerryon Johnson to injured reserve in Week 7. Since then, however, the sixth-round pick in this year’s draft has not been an especially productive player. He gets the early down work on this team, and in a week when they could very well be overmatched against the Cowboys, J.D. McKissic, who gets work in the passing game, is probably a better play for fantasy purposes, especially if you’re in a PPR format.
