UPDATE: Adam Schefter is reporting Kittle will not play.

If you ask George Kittle, which someone did, he will tell you that he feels just fine, actually he said “fantastic.” The reality might not be so rosy for the San Francisco 49ers tight end. He is officially listed as doubtful as he continues to deal with a knee and ankle injury. He missed last week’s game, and spent this week at practice doing rehab.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that they team would not rule him out, despite the doubtful listing, citing Kittle’s sunny assessment of his injury situation and noted ability to play through the bumps and bruises of the season. However, he added a note of caution that the team is thinking beyond Week 11, meaning Kittle could get a mandated day off from his coach.

Game-time decisions for the late afternoon games are tough. And of course, this game, against the Cardinals, is one where Kittle could put up some stats. However, his team needs to be thinking about the postseason, which could prompt them to take it easy with Kittle.

Without Kittle, Ross Dwelley is the next man up at tight end for the 49ers. He caught three passes on seven targets last week. At $3,400 in DK leagues, he could be worth a flyer if you’re budget’s stretched on the other spots.
