It’s been a rough season for New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell, and really the team as a whole. Expectations were moderately high after a solid rookie season for Sam Darnold and the addition of Bell in free agency. However, things went south in a hurry when Darnold came down with mono, and it has not gotten back on track.
This week, Bell and the Jets travel to face equally woeful Washington in a matchup with huge draft order implications. Cincinnati appears on track to secure the No. 1 pick, but both Washington and the Jets have a significant shot at a top three pick.
Bell is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game with illness, ribs, and knee all attached. He was a DNP on Wednesday, and then limited on Thursday and Friday. The ribs issue appears to be a new thing, but none of them are likely to sideline him in Week 11.
Fantasy football analysis: Jets RB Le’Veon Bell
Washington has given up the seventh most fantasy points to running backs. Bell has yet to surpass 100 yards rushing this season, but he’s still managed double digit fantasy efforts in six of the Jets nine games. Touchdowns did the trick in two games, while receiving work did it in the other four games. His ceiling is not what it was in Pittsburgh, but he still brings a solid floor. And facing a crummy Washington team, this is a fantastic matchup for him.
Bell should be active, and if he is, he is a great fantasy football start.
