What to do with Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu in Week 11 fantasy football

Mohamed Sanu quickly became a top target for Tom Brady. We break down what to do with him in Week 11 fantasy football.

In Mohamed Sanu’s second game as a Patriots receiver, he led the team in targets, as he caught 10-of-14 for 81 yards and a touchdown. Julian Edelman wasn’t far behind, but was second, as he caught 10-of-11 targets for 89 yards and no touchdown.

Sanu’s target numbers don’t show that he’s passed Edelman, but the fact that Tom Brady does trust him already is a great sign. Phillip Dorsett isn’t going to go away, and N’Keal Harry looks likely to suit up this week, so we can’t count on concentrated targets like those against the Ravens before the bye.

Fantasy football analysis: New England Patriots WRs Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu

The good news for the Patriots receivers as a whole is their matchup in Week 11. The Eagles secondary is the weak link of their defense. They allow the fifth-most fantasy points and second-most fantasy points per reception to wide receivers and a healthy 14.8 yards per reception to the position.

On a Bill Belichick team, it’s often tough to project usage outside the top players, so we should feel good about Edelman as he received a bye to help heal his lingering rib injury, and we know he is Brady’s No. 1 target. Sanu is more volatile, but the speed in which Brady got comfortable with him as a go-to underneath receiver, bodes well for his continued usage in a good matchup.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Edelman as a WR1/2.

Start Sanu as a WR3 with a boost in PPR leagues.
