Best fantasy football defense plays under $3,000 in Week 11

Breaking down the best D/ST value targets on the Week 11 DraftKings’ main slate

Getting good value on D/ST plays isn’t just about the points-per-dollar, but opening up room for the plays you want in the rest of your lineup. That’s why I usually pay down for D/ST options, and there are plenty of places to do so on the Week 11 main slate. This slate happens to be even tighter than usual, with the studs everyone wants to roster seeing their salaries rise even more. Salaries via DraftKings.

Washington ($2,800) vs. NYJ

Washington D/ST has actually been pretty consistent this season, floating around 5.0 DKFP per game, but at a discount price. This price point matches its second-highest of the season, but the matchup is worthy. The Jets’ offense has ranked 25th in terms of allowing DKFP to the opposing D/ST, and will be on the road in this spot. The ‘Skins have held three of their last four opponents under 200 passing yards, limiting scoring chances, in what projects as a grinder of a game.

Dolphins ($2,500) vs. BUF

The Dolphins tend to get overlooked because of how much of a joke they were to begin the season, but they’ve cleaned up their act significantly. This D/ST has managed 23 total DKFP over the last four weeks, and gets a home matchup against a struggling divisional offense. Josh Allen has been one of the worst QBs getting the ball downfield this season, and struggled against Miami in Buffalo earlier this season. Look for Miami to continue trending in the right direction at home.

Lions ($1,800) vs. DAL

The Cowboys will be a popular pick to win and cover this game in Detroit. But these D/ST plays under $2,000 can be so valuable on DK, especially on weeks like this one, with extremely tight salaries. Lions D/ST scored 6.0 DKFP in Chicago last week, and 11 DKFP in its last home game against the Giants. The goal here would just be 5.0 DKFP against the run-heavy Cowboys, and anything over that would be gravy.
