James Conner injury status update

The Steelers have ruled Conner OUT for the rest of the game. Jaylen Samuels has replaced him in the backfield, and has had two carries for eight yards since Conner’s injury. Trey Edmunds has added one for a loss of one yard as the game has reached halftime.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are trailing the Cleveland Browns 14-0 and their comeback increased in difficulty. Running back James Conner has left the game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury and is questionable to return, per reports. He is getting the injury looked at in the locker room, per the TNF sideline reporter. The injury is an aggravation of the separated shoulder that cost him the last two games.

Conner had five rushes for ten yards and one six-yard reception at the time of his injury. Jaylen Samuels has one rush for seven yards and will likely take over as the starter while Conner is evaluated. Trey Edmunds will also get some work after entering the game as the third string running back. Benny Snell is inactive with a knee injury.
