It’s been a rough season for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., but receiver Jarvis Landry has continued about exactly the way you’d expect. He’s a highly targeted pass catcher who will generally not put up a ton of yards. He’s a must start in most PPR leagues, but a little less so in standard leagues.
This week the Browns host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football. The Steelers have seen a surge in their pass defense thanks to the arrival of safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Through ten weeks, the pass defense ranks fourth in efficiency and 15th in fantasy points allowed to the wide receiver position. It’s an improving group, but still one with some ups and downs.
Landry has been getting an overwhelming share of targets each of the past three weeks, averaging 11 targets per week. He has found the end zone each of the past two weeks after going scoreless the first seven weeks. He’s not a consistent standard option, and this week does not strike me as a good week to start him in such leagues. OBJ has struggled with his own consistency, but he remains the big-play threat that Landry does not quite match.
Start/Sit Recommendation
Start in PPR leagues, sit in standard leagues
