What to do with Vance McDonald on Thursday Night Football

Vance McDonald has 14 targets in his last two games. Will that workload continue on Thursday Night Football?

Vance McDonald had a tough time last week against the Rams but did see seven targets. He also saw seven targets the previous week versus the Colts and caught five for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Seven targets are McDonald’s high this season, with the only other game he saw that number coming against the 49ers when he scored two touchdowns in Week 2. His usage seems to have jumped, and it would make sense to keep him involved in this offense.

Fantasy football analysis: Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald

The Browns allow the ninth-most fantasy points to tight ends, including 105 yards and a touchdown to rookie Noah Fant in Week 9. McDonald hasn’t gotten on track this season, but it looks like they are working on getting him more targets of late.

If there were a big pool of consistent fantasy tight ends, we’d probably leave McDonald on the bench, but that’s not the way things are. McDonald is likely a touchdown or bust player on Thursday night, but one worth playing at a thin position.
