What to do with Baker Mayfield in Week 11 fantasy football

Baker Mayfield may not be putting on a laser show, but there’s reason for optimism heading into Thursday vs. the Steelers. We take a look at his fantasy football outlook.

The Browns’ season hasn’t gone according to plan, but did any of us really think they’d be Super Bowl contenders? Yeah, you’re right, we all drank the kool aid. Well, Baker Mayfield’s potential breakout was a big reason we all thought Cleveland would succeed, but seems we’ll have to wait another season. BUT is there hope on the horizon? Sort of. Mayfield hasn’t played as bad as you’d think the past few weeks. He’s completed over 64% of his passes in three straight games and has only taken four sacks in the past two (baby steps).

Fantasy Football Analysis, Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield

I always bring up that the TNF game favors the home team on the short week and the Browns are coming off a big, emotional win over the Bills in Week 10. I think that’ll play a factor for Mayfield and how the offense operates vs. Pittsburgh. The Steelers defense has hit its stride, but has played three straight at home and has to travel, which isn’t ideal.

I think it will be tough for Cleveland’s offensive line to slow down the ‘Lers pass rush, but I also think this Browns offense is due. One game Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are going to eat and Nick Chubb is going to go off. I’m not crazy about locking in a QB on Thursday night unless they’re a lock, but Mayfield is trending up and the Browns should be extra motivated.

Start/Sit Recommendation

Start in deeper leagues. Sit in shallow formats.
