The Chicago Bears have an unexpected addition to their injury report in Week 11. The team kicked off their preparations for Sunday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams, and running back David Montgomery was listed as limited on Wednesday with an ankle injury, according to Adam Caplan.
Montgomery has gotten the bulk of the work as the starting running back this season. He has 129 rushes for 466 yards (3.6 yards per carry) with five touchdowns. In the passing game, he 18 receptions on 24 targets for 133 yards. By comparison, backup Tarik Cohen has 29 rushes for 77 yards and 38 receptions on 55 targets for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
Cohen is effectively a wide receiver, but the team did release Mike Davis recently. If Montgomery missed any time, Cohen would likely see an uptick in rushing work. That being said, Montgomery will likely be fine for Sunday. We’ll have more after the next couple injury reports give us a better handle on the situation.
