Thunder coach Billy Donovan told reporters early Tuesday that center Steven Adams will get back into the lineup tonight in Indiana. Adams had been battling a knee contusion that kept him out of Sunday’s game vs. the Bucks.
Now that Adams is back, we break down the impact.
Fantasy Basketball Analysis, Oklahoma City Thunder C Steven Adams
With Adams ($5,100 on DraftKings) set to return, Nerlens Noel ($5,000) takes the biggest hit in DFS and season-long. With a low implied point total and a tough matchup vs. the Pacers interior defense, Noel doesn’t offer much appeal on DraftKings. We’d need to know if Adams is starting and playing a full workload before considering him in our lineups, but even then, the matchup doesn’t offer a high ceiling and we’ve got 15 other teams to pick from.
Adams is a bigger body for Domantas Sabonis ($8,400) to deal with down low, but this game just isn’t good for DFS. Sabonis wasn’t anything more than a risky GPP play anyway given his high price. There are better options, particularly at center.
Chances are Adams will start, but it’s worth monitoring if he’ll have any restrictions. Check back here for more updates throughout the day leading up to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. ET.
