The Baltimore Ravens thumped the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10, and we got yet another signature moment from dynamic quarterback Lamar Jackson. He ran the ball on a keeper and after avoiding three defenders, put on a spin move to leave two Bengals defenders with broken ankles.
It was another huge game for Jackson, finishing with 223 passing yards and three touchdowns, and scrambling for 65 yards and another touchdown. The performance gave him another boost in his push for NFL MVP. As of Monday morning, Jackson has leap-frogged Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in the DraftKings Sportsbook odds. Jackson now sits at +210 to Wilson’s +250. Jackson was +350 prior to the game.
Jackson is getting all sorts of well-deserved press for his dominating performances, but we can’t forget that Wilson has a big game of his own still to play in Week 10. The Seahawks travel to face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football to close out the week. The Seahawks are 7-2 and trailing the 8-0 49ers in the NFC West.
The 49ers beat the Seahawks late last season with Nick Mullens leading the charger in a 26-23 overtime victory. It marked San Francisco’s first victory over Seahawks since 2013.
This game marks the first time Jimmy Garoppolo will start opposite Russell Wilson. Garoppolo made his 49ers debut against the Seahawks, but it came in relief of an injured C.J. Beathard. Garoppolo tore his ACL early the next season before the 49ers and Seahawks squared off. Wilson is the best quarterback in the division, and Garoppolo is looking to prove he is the second best ahead of Kyler Murray and Jared Goff.
This is a chance for a signature moment for Wilson. His team is a six point underdog, the first time since 2014 that they’ve been underdogs against the 49ers. A loss drops Seattle to three games back in the division with seven weeks remaining on the schedule. A win moves them to within a game and opens this thing up.
If the Seahawks upset the 49ers tonight, I would not be surprised to see Wilson’s odds move even with Jackson, if not ahead if he is particularly impressive.
