The Kansas City Chiefs welcomed quarterback Patrick Mahomes back into the starting lineup, and on the opening drive they picked up where they left off a few weeks back. On the opening drive, Mahomes completed six of eight passes for 57 yards and capped the drive with a touchdown pass to tight end Travis Kelce.
Mahomes did almost throw an interception on his first pass of the drive. Kenny Vaccaro appeared to secure an interception, but on review, the play was reversed and it was ruled incomplete. Mahomes quickly bounced back to go six of seven on the drive.
On two subsequent drives, Mahomes was six of nine for 67 yards. The Chiefs added a field goal on the first of the drives and punted on the second. Mahomes is 12 of 17 for 124 yards and a touchdown.
Mahomes is making his first start since dislocating his knee cap three weeks ago on Thursday Night Football. He returned to practice last week, but sat out the Week 9 game against Minnesota. He returned this week after missing a mere two games and is looking like he is right back on track. He’s got a ways to go today, but so far so good for Mahomes and his fantasy football owners.
