The Pittsburgh Steelers will not have running back James Conner or Benny Snell when they host the Los Angeles Rams this week. This is the second week in a row that both players will be unavailable for the Black and Gold.
The issue for Conner is a shoulder injury that he suffered late in his team’s Week 8 tilt against the Miami Dolphins. He left that game earlier and has not been back on the field since then. There was some optimism earlier in the week that Conner would be able to suit up against the Rams, but that was officially doused when Friday’s injury report came out. Still, there is a good chance he will return to action next week.
Snell hurt his knee in that same game against the Dolphins. He missed practice in the days leading up to this week’s game.
But there is some good news, and his name is Jaylen Samuels.
Fantasy football analysis, Pittsburgh Steelers RBs James Conner, Benny Snell, and Jaylen Samuels
Samuels had 21 touches last week against the Colts. He only produced 10 rushing yards on eight carries, but he caught all 13 of the passes thrown his way for 73 receiving yards. Running back Trey Edmunds will likely get more work on the ground, but that’s not an easy task against the Rams defense.
Samuels’ dual role in the offense and emergence as Mason Rudolph’s favorite target make him an excellent fantasy play this week. He’s $6,300 in DK leagues, and you should nab him.
