The San Francisco 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10 on Monday Night Football, and they’ll be welcoming back some key pieces. Offensive tackles Joe Staley and Mike McGlinchey, and fullback Kyle Juszczyk are all expected back in the starting lineup. The ground game has been solid without them, but it takes a noticeable step up with the three key blockers.
Coleman is coming off his worst game of the season. In Week 9, he rushed for 23 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards. Breida had a better outing, rushing for 78 yards and catching two passes for 14 yards. Raheem Mostert, a fantasy spoiler of sorts, had his worst game of the year with one rush for -2 yards in a primarily special teams role.
Fantasy football analysis: 49ers RBs Tevin Coleman, Matt Breida
The Seahawks have given up the 12th fewest fantasy points to the running back position. Nick Chubb’s 122-yard performance in Week 6 is the last big game against them. Seattle ranks 22nd in run defense efficiency and this would be their biggest test of the season.
Coleman is the better option of the two to start, but Breida is going to continue cutting into Coleman’s work. Both get an upgrade with Juszczyk, Staley, and McGlinchey back. Not so much as to make them must starts, but still plenty valuable. Coleman is a solid RB2, while Breida is an RB3/Flex option.
Start/Sit Recommendation
Tevin Coleman: Start as RB2
Matt Breida: Start as Flex
