Against a cupcake defense in that of the Giants, Dak Prescott had another great game on Monday Night Football to add to his 2019 collection. Prescott finished with 257 yards on 22 completions while throwing three touchdowns and only one interception. That has been the norm for Prescott all season long, as he’s limited his errors (he has thrown more than one pick only once, and none two times) and surpassed 223 yards in every game he’s played.
Dallas’ wide receivers are averaging the second-most fantasy points as a unit in 2019, and that is in great part due to Prescott’s talent. The Cowboys quarterback is the QB5 in points per game and boasts a 15:8 touchdown-to-interception ratio in his eight starts. He’s strung together four games in which he’s reached 277 passing yards or has thrown a touchdown, and he’s also been able to score two times on the ground in his last three outings combined. Prescott has been one of the most reliable players at the position, as he scored fewer than 21 fantasy points just once and has shown a pretty high ceiling of up to 37.5.

In what could be the game of the week, Dallas hosts Minnesota for a Sunday night showdown. The Cowboys enter the game as three-point favorites with a total of 47.5 points. The main story of the game, though, is leaning toward how both running backs—Dalvin Cook and Ezekiel Elliott—will impact the match as they profile as the true go-to players on both teams for the matchup.
If Minnesota takes the lead and it takes Prescott an extra effort on the passing game, though, he might not have it easy against an above-average defense like the Vikings. Minnesota ranks ninth against the pass by Football Outsiders DVOA, and they are giving up the 11th-fewest fantasy points to receivers this season. Much of their success, though, came earlier in the year. In the past four games they’ve played they have surrendered 275-plus passing yards three times and seven touchdowns combined while only intercepting three passes. Even Kansas City’s Matt Moore finished last weekend with 275 yards on 25 completions for 17.75 points against the Vikings, and Prescott is clearly capable of besting those numbers just on pure talent.
